Choir Membership
New Members are very welcome!
We are always open to new members. Candidates do not have to be ex services or able to read music. All that we ask is that those who may wish to join are supportive of our military character and, naturally enough, can sing!
We generally introduce new members to the choir on their first night and then allow the new person to settle in for a few weeks. We will put new members beside an experienced choir member and after a few weeks review how it is going. Sometimes new members may be invited to change to a singing section that is more suited to their voice range.
After a few weeks, new members will be asked if they wish to continue and only after doing so will be fitted with a choir uniform.
New members are welcome at any time but if someone joins close to a concert, it may be prudent for them to 'sit out the first one' until they are fully familiar with the music.
If you would like to become a member or just see what its' like being a member of our choir, please contact us using the details below or fill in our form and we will get back to you at a time that is convenient to you.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held from 7pm to 9pm every Monday in the Salvation Army Main Hall, 575 Princess Street Dunedin. Getting closer to a concert, we sometimes require additional practices. They are announced as and when required.
There is a half time break during practices for tea and a biscuit from 8 till around 10 past. Those taking tea are asked for a 50 cent donation to defray costs. The supper coordinator invites members to assist on a rostered basis.
We start the 'choir' year on the last Monday of January and conclude at the end of November, with a Christmas dinner for member and partners, and a wee sing-song to finish the year.
Uniforms
We re-uniformed in 2013 to a striking military red jacket/black trousers.
Our uniform regulations are available from the secretary. Any questions on uniforms, please ask the Comptroller. While new members do not have to purchase the Uniform, a contribution towards the cost of the uniform is required, the value of which is by way of a koha reflecting an individual's personal circumstances.
